Towels: how to care properly?

Pay particular attention to the care labels on the towels. They will give you all the details in a concise and clear manner. However, there are some general rules to follow.

Towels should be washed frequently, at least every five days. The more dirt, shampoo, conditioner and other residues penetrate into the fabric, the harder and rougher the towels become.

We advise you not to use too much fabric softener when washing your towels. Adding too much fabric softener will have the opposite effect – if not rinsed well, the fabric softener stays in the fabric and hardens when it dries.

Towels should be washed at a high temperature, but not higher than the temperature specified on the care label. High temperatures kill the bacteria.

Wash your new towels before use. Towels can be washed in temperatures of up to 60°C. We do not recommend using bleaching agents.

Towels can be dried at a low temperature in an electric tumble dryer and ironed only at a low temperature.

How to choose a towel?

Only natural materials

Pure cotton towels are the best choice. When choosing the towels, it is important to pay attention to the density of the cotton – the higher the density, the better the towel will perform its main function – absorb the moisture.

Towels with a density of 600 – 800 g/m will not be suitable for everyone as they take a long time to dry, so it is optimal to choose a towel with a density of 500 g/m, which will perform its function well and dry quickly.

Bath towels

The size of the towels should be taken into account after choosing the right composition. The most common sizes are: 50×100 cm and 70×140 cm.

When choosing them, it is important to pay attention to your habits. If you like to wrap yourself in a towel after a bath or shower, then choose 70×140 cm. Smaller towels are perfect for use by the sink, for wiping your face and hands.

Kitchen towels

Kitchen towels are the towels we use most often to wipe the dishes, clean our hands or counter tops. You should choose a size that is not too large for comfortable use. Kitchen towels should be thin but able to absorb moisture quickly, which is why linen or cotton towels with lower density are preferable.

Beach towels

Regular bath towels with loops are not suitable for the beach, as they are particularly sticky with sand. You should choose towels with a smooth texture and larger in size so that you can lie comfortably on the sand.

Thickness is important as well – beach towels should be thin so that they don’t take up too much space in your backpack or beach bag. We suggest choosing light colors, as dark colors tend to get hotter in direct sunlight.
